MacTEX: an easy to install TEX system for MacOSX: the full TEXLive distribution, with the TeXShop front-end and other Mac tools. Comes with support for most modern systems, including GNU/Linux, MacOSX, and Windows. Rich Text is a field type that enables authors to create rich text content, similar to traditional 'What you see is what you get' (wysiwyg) editors. If you have installed MiKTeX system-wide, you must enter /usr/local/bin. If you have a private MiKTeX installation, you must enter /bin (the tilde character is expanded by TeXShop). TeXShop uses TeX Live, a standard distribution of Tex programs maintained by the TeX Users Group (TUG) for Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, and various other Unix machines. Since PDF is a native file format on OS X, TeXShop uses "pdftex" and "pdflatex" rather than "tex" and "latex" to typeset these programs in the standard teTeX distribution of TeX produce PDF output instead of DVI output. LyX is a word and text document processor which combines LaTex with WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor. TeXShop is a TeX previewer for OS X, written in Cocoa. So Im trying use the same method described there to see if theres anything in the rich text column, check the length and fire my validation stuff.
